SHANGHAI 900 MALL
As a project of renovation and transformation in the birthplace of Shanghai-style culture for hundreds of years, it finds the balance between the retention of urban memory and innovation in design. Firstly, the design extends the interface of city to the largest extent, and forms a platform between the first and second floors where people can stand, which infuses new vitality into the shopping mall; secondly, in the sign and color of building, it adopts modern methods to rebuild in order to realize the harmony of building, religion, history, and Chinese and Western cultures. Finally, due to special requirements such as cost and schedule, the project applies “matrix design” to develop several lines of design simultaneously and control them intensively, which perfectly coordinates with the whole project of transformation.
