ZIKAWEI LIBRARY
The design of ZIKAWEI LIBRARY is derived from the traditional Chinese structure of the “Chinese box set” for the sub box. The outermost layer of the box is the thin exterior facade of the building. The second floor is the main functional area of the library. The third floor is the circular walkway, and the fourth floor is the atrium that serves as the library reading hall. And at the innermost is the core device of the library, which serves as a treasure in the box structure, with a 30 meter long desk and a 3D printed Tushanwan archway. So the lighting in the atrium emphasizes on the sea desk and facade, weakens the lighting on the ceiling itself, and allows the space’s light to focus more on reading and the core of the space itself.
