NANSLEDAN, NEWQUAY. UK – A NEW URBAN EXTENSION
Acknowledged by the British media as ‘the most influential British urban extension of the last 15 years’, Nansledan is a 218-hectare mixed-use, mixed-tenure, sustainable urban extension to Newquay. As a genuine walkable community, residents of Nansledan can meet their daily needs on foot, while having strong physical connections with Newquay to bolster the town and its socio-economic performance. Over time Nansledan will evolve into a community of 4,000 homes, with its own high street, school, public spaces, and public facilities, helping to meet the future needs of Newquay in a complementary and sustainable way, and acting as a catalyst to strengthen the local economy. Five phases are currently under construction, others await approval or are in design development. Nansledan is committed to meeting local needs identified through engagement of all stakeholders. The first batch of residents moved into the area in 2015, and the project development will continue for 50 years.
