Personal Profile

Professor Kevin Singh is a Chartered Architect with a career in higher education that spans almost 30 years and is Head of the Manchester School of Architecture, a joint school between Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Manchester of circa 1250 students which is ranked 5th in the QS world rankings for Architecture. The School currently offers the following programmes BA Architecture, M.Arch Architecture, PG Cert Architecture + Contemporary Practice, Master of Landscape Architecture, MA Architecture + Urbanism, MA Architecture + Adaptive Re-use, and a Foundation in Architecture.

Kevin Singh was conferred as a Professor of Architecture in 2013 under the categories of Academic Leadership and Learning & Teaching. He was awarded a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship in 2015.

Professor Kevin Singh is entrepreneurial in his outlook and co-founded a design-led architecture and interior design practice in 2000 alongside his academic career, www.thespacestudio.com , with studios in Birmingham and Manchester which works across new build, refurbishment, and interiors in a number of sectors for an impressive client base.

Professor Kevin Singh is a very active member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), chairing RIBA Visiting Boards as well as contributing to RIBA judging panels, and being a Council member of the Manchester Society of Architects. He is also a Council member of SCOSA, the UK’s Standing Conference of Schools of Architecture.

Professor Kevin Singh is currently an External Examiner at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, and the Mackintosh School of Architecture at the Glasgow School of Art.
