Junyi Orient – City Life Care Community

Junyi Orient – City Life Care Community breaks ground at the south foothill of Zijin Mountain. It is the first integrated community of treatment, convalescence and residence in Nanjing, as well as the first built project of mixed-use land for pension in China.

This project has 1325 beds for the aged in terms of gross floor area 180,000 square meters, which is composed of age-friendly housings (90,000 square meters), East Branch of Jiangsu People’s Hospital (30,000 square meters), CCRC endowment community (60,000 square meters) and active center for senior citizens (10,000 square meters).

The design proposes an effective organization for different property forms, management patterns and groups of people between age-friendly living and medical treatment. This case offers inspiring solution towards endowment problem under the ageing society at present.
