Growing Sports Park

The project is strategically located at the center of Xihongmen Town, Daxing District, and is next to JINGKAI Expressway. Overall building area is 19966.72 sqm. As a commonweal project, the parcel of the project used to be a piece of urban green land as a community facility. After multiple consultations, the designers and the project owner reached a consensus. This project was to be repositioned as a park-style structure to be a bright spot of the city, which was in harmony with the surrounding environment.

The contradiction between the space limitation and the huge mass of gymnasium couldn’t be resolved with conventional methods. Therefore, taking advantages of the terrain, the designers planned a sunken plaza to create a semi-underground swimming pool, so as to lower the height of the above-ground structures. At the same time, there were different levels inside the space, naturally creating more areas for activities. Accordingly, some bridges and corridors are designed to connect them together, making the spaces more diversify and people’s participation sense stronger.
