King’s Town Group Headquarters
The building’s exterior evokes the imagery of a panlong, a type of dragon from ancient Chinese mythology. The body of the dragon consists of 12 meeting rooms protruding outwards, creating the appearance of a dragon ascending into the clouds.
The building’s main structure is surrounded by curtain walls, 80% of which are glass featuring patterns reminiscent of dragon scales. These serve not only as decoration but as a mechanism to moderate the amount of sunlight passing through. As for the indoor lighting, we overcame various design challenges and incorporated a large amount of wall wash lights to create an indoor space where residents are able to take advantage of the wonderful natural light, which seems all the more delicate as it passes through the building’s many intricate layers.
