One Museum Place
One Museum Place, Shanghai solved an interesting and unique problem. New client ownership demanded an innovative design solution to an already existing completed substructure for a now unloved earlier idea. Additional constraints include an almost fully constructed metro line in close proximity and an ultra-compressed timeline for structural completion for a 250M high LEED Platinum commercial office tower. The normal initial conceptual design approach was suspended in lieu of the design team quickly synthesizing considerable structural constraints with new client aspirations to deliver a market ready class A building. The result is an elegant crystalline tower with carefully articulated east and west facades that will command the Puxi skyline from its near Lujaizui neighbors across the Huangpu River.
