The Sky Castle in Kuliang
To build houses on a complicated hilly environment seems to have many disadvantages, but the designers believe that inherent aesthetics are holding inside the mountain architecture. ‘Inheritance and Reconstruction’ is the core concept of this project. The key is to utilize the unique topography on-site to create Chinese style architectural design. The site planning has accommodated the original slopes and elevation changes, as every building placement is fitting the undulated landform, which leads to a terraced and rhythmical neighborhood settlement on the mountain.
