Shanhai Art Museum

The Shanhai Art Museum is hidden in the West Mountain and the Dian Lake. It is a story about “mountains, seas, and cities”. On the macro level, the museum is with West Mountain on one side and a sea of grass on the other side, which bears a very open interface; on the meso level, it used to be an abandoned white horse amusement park, the design intends to extend its spirit of “Paradise Lost”; On the micro level, the underlying surface of the place is the local stone forest in Yunnan. After investigation, the designer decided to connect the architecture, mountains&seas and stone forests with each other, and refine the sublimation of the local element “white horse” into the theme of “Dream as a Horse” to create a “paradise of freedom”.
