Chengdu C&D · Yangxi

C&D-Yang Xi in Chengdu is the pinnacle of C&D’s four new series of Chinese-styled products. In the demonstration area of this proposal, there is a century-old ginkgo tree, which is dearly cherished. The Sunlay team conceived of the project based on the concept of a “city and an ancient tree”. Chengdu is the birthplace of ancient Shu culture and is a city which is bursting with cultural heritage and prestige. The hundred-year ginkgo tree is a symbol of the spirit of the city, which has borne witness to the rapid development of Chengdu in modern times. The design concept was based on “the rules of famous and prestigious families, a noble household, and the spirit of the gingko tree” and the layout was thus developed to be a multi-entrance courtyard, which creates the picturesque impression of an elegant residence in Chengdu, while depicting “a storied origin, orderly and organized, revealing the harmony between heaven and man, which is one with nature”.
