6TH DEPARTMENT STORE RENEWAL

The project is located in Shanghai’s core business area, in the main junction point of a few city main roads. The design is in order to connect two original department stores’ underground levels where is in contact with three subway lines, as well as to connect the buildings’ higher floor areas. Externally the design envisions an urban public bridge; internally, it envisions an urban public living room, in where it provides a dynamic retail space for tourists and visitors to enjoy leisure and entertainment. By creating a flexible and flexible spatial framework, the overall renovation and transformation can accommodate future multi-dimensional business requirements and provide interesting spatial sequences with local cultural norms. The light and breathable facade transcends the barrier between the commercial space and the city, and its flowing and converging surface form embodies the energetic and endless flow of the metropolis.
