RURAL REVITALIZATION OF LIANHUAXUE VILLAGE

The traditional Chinese society, based on the ethical framework of agricultural civilization, has maintained a stable urban-rural dual structure for over 2400 years.
In the context of modern globalization, the ethical framework has undergone significant changes and the urban-rural dual structure has been restructured. Rural areas have gone through the process of nurturing cities, urban and rural fragmentation, decline and restructuring, and comprehensive revitalization.
Using updated and dilapidated ancestral houses as the backbone architecture, space revitalization is carried out to recreate the public functions of ancestral houses, and artistic content with high participation from villagers is continuously operated to reconstruct spatial ethics.
The project includs rural museums, art galleries, libraries, research institutes, outdoor theaters, and rice field art museums, to achieve the symbiosis of “art intervention in rural areas, and rural achievements in art”.
