SURPASS · RUI PARK

This project is a renovation of a cluster of eight small-scale factory buildings of Guanshengyuan. We have chosen washed stone and teak wood, commonly used in the facades of old houses, as the main materials to retain the unique characteristic of the old buildings on the facade. The use of vertical greenery enriches the internal streetscape and enhances the energy efficiency of the walls at the same time. The staggered position of the windows and the multi-angle setting of the floor-to-ceiling windows reproduce the sense of rhythm of the entire building complex. While retaining the sense of scale of the old factory buildings in Guanshengyuan, the park is given a new vitality and a distinctive nautical style, thus turning it into a cultural and creative park with work, entertainment and art functions.
