SHANGHAI GUOHUA FINANCE CENTER

Shanghai Guohua Financial Center is situated at the gateway to the North Bund area of Hongkou District. The architectural design is inspired by the unique urban DNA of the region. The exterior façade design directly echoes and mirrors the surrounding urban fabric, which is different from the traditional high-res building design method.
The façade material adopts off-white embossed aluminum plate and fluorocarbon sprayed aluminum profile close to red brick color, which pays tribute to Shanghai’s historical buildings.
In terms of site planning, unlike most high-rise buildings in the city center, the two main towers are pushed to the perimeter of the site. This creates an urban public space in the center of the site that is both visually and physically connected.
The tower is no longer an acontextual box that could be built anywhere. Shanghai Guohua Finance Center is of its city, not just in it.
