SHANGHAI BOOK CITY

Shanghai Book City Fuzhou Road Store, which opened on December 30, 1998, was Shanghai’s first large-scale comprehensive retail bookstore. Since its opening, it has been one of Shanghai’s important cultural landmarks and a part of the literary memories that have accompanied every resident of the city. After a major renovation in 2023, this “new city” built up by books is no longer just a place to buy books and read books, but also endowed with iterative innovation and upgrading of the cultural industry, upgrading from a bookstore to a one-stop comprehensive cultural space. At the same time, Shanghai Book City became the first project to obtain the platinum level of Carbon-Neutral Building in Shanghai, and also has become a new cultural landmark in Shanghai to spread the concept of green and low-carbon.
