TIANJIN ITALIAN STYLE AREA EAST-WEST LANE RENOVATION

The project is located in the central area of Italian Style Area in Tianjin, with Ethnic Road as its central axis. We made use of the inner courtyards enclosed by the existing buildings to make the project into two clusters, named East Lane and West Lane. East and West Lane have existed for a hundred years, namely, Tuanjie East Alley and Tuanjie West Alley. The project includes 17 buildings with a total floor area of 36,000 square meters. The renovation will optimise the overall commercial structure of the Italian Style Area and create a new benchmark for the integration of historic districts and new commercial businesses.The design draws inspiration from the magnificent landscape of Italy to create a unified and coordinated character for East Lane and West Lane, while also presenting distinctive differences, providing visitors with a diversified spatial experience.
