YANBAI VILLA
The project is located at Yanqi Lake in Beijing, which is a boutique museum hotel designed by Pritzker Prize laureate— Professor Wang Shu. It is delicately constructed along the winding lake, resembling a picturesque landscape painting. The lighting complements the distinctive building materials, emphasizing the main structure to enhance the overall architectural grandeur. When viewed from an aerial perspective, it appears like a hidden dragon, lying low among the green mountains.
Inspired from Wang Ximeng’s “A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains” from the Northern Song Dynasty. By illuminating the main building with glazed tile materials, it serves as a contemporary expression of green landscapes, highlighting the continuous peaks of the architecture and reflecting its expansive momentum. The multi-layered lighting showcases the distinctive features of the architecture and its surroundings, thus reviving the ancient charm of “A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains.”
