KCID KUNSHAN DA XI MEN WATERFRONT RETAIL
As an important node of the riverside landscape belt, Da xi men Commercial Street presents the diversity of the typical Chinese watertown blocks with different theme landscapes of “one street, two belts and three courtyards”. The overall design is based on the commercial streets of the Pianyufang in Kunshan, where kunqu opera was popular at that time. The landscape is found through the north-south axis of the main street, by combining the three themed courtyards of painting, reunion and be close to nature, and the waterfront space of Cangji River on the west side and dancing space on the east side. These four spatial expression strategies reproduce the cultural characteristics of Kunshan, create different theme landscapes, and reproduce the bustling and characteristic blocks in the history of Kunshan.
