YIWU · QINGTANGFU：YIWU URBAN ORGANIC RENEWAL PROJECT-QINTANG RESETTLEMENT COMMUNITY

The project is the first mixed development urban organic renewal project in Yiwu. With a volume of 200000 square meters, it bears the special identity of a mixed community of resettlement housing and commercial housing. In addition to achieving a quality balance between resettlement housing and commercial housing in terms of material space, it also needs to promote residents’ identity recognition and consolidate neighborhood consensus at the spiritual level. The design attempts to respond to the cultural heritage with architectural language and to show humanistic care: the architectural facade adopts traditional Chinese architectural style, and translates it into elegant and simple golden eaves using modern techniques, tracing the ancient charm of Qin and Han dynasties; the public corridor system are engraved with poems, calligraphy and paintings that carry the historical memories of Qintang, allowing original citizens and new residents to immerse themselves in cultural implication.
