From the doorway to the veranda, and then to the comb-heung corridor, each place has been carefully composed to create the aesthetics of a moving picture. The design of the lighting also follows the delicate and exquisite oriental aesthetics. It emphasizes on small, soft and hidden, and perfectly conceals the lamps and lanterns in the environment to create a deep and quiet Chinese style elegance. We use the hidden lamps as the main light source, with soft diffuse reflection light to guide people’s eyes, the still pool in the courtyard is decorated with star lights, which is to emphasize the “movement” of people and the “stillness” of the water. Localized subtle downlighting is used as the key lighting to ensure the necessary functional lighting, and the light and darkness of the space and the shadows of the trees tailor the courtyard into a still frame of landscape.
