Undulating. Symphonic Movement.
This design project breaks through the cold rigidity of horizontal and vertical lines; every detail embodies natural, fluid organic concepts. With curves that echo the scrolling lines of an opened book, the warm wooden surface of the ceiling responds to the verdurous lushness outside the window; the bushed and chiseled surfaces of the rusty speckled granite walls lay bare the unadorned textures to reveal the colors gradually acquired by natural stone, over years of oxidation. The pendant light at the center of the ceiling provides a focal point. Glowing with a faint halo, the arched dome conjures contemplations of the heavens. Hung from above, golden brass tubular light fittings of varying lengths recall a pipe organ in cathedrals. This, together with the varying lengths in the metallic installation on the windows, composes an effervescent and lively rhythm.
