          How to keep Honglou Business District busy and bustling, and upgrade the quality of the area
          in terms of design? Respecting the historical context, creating an energetic urban public
          space with pedestrian scale is the core principle for us to design this super city complex. The
          mixed-use development comprised of shopping center, open-plan shopping precinct, office,
          hospitality and residential programs. We unfold the northeast corner of the site opposite
          Hongjialou Church across the road as an urban cultural square, which surrounds the Sister
          Building with a history of 100 years, and extend inward to the Joy Fun 24-hour shopping
          precinct. By redefining this historical neighbourhood into the downtown district of Ji'nan, the
          complex acknowledges the history and character of the city whilst immersing visitors in a
          unique shopping experience.
